I was desperately in need of a dresser makeover- preferably black or white (to go with a recent bedroom makeover) with some fun detail or hardware. Here are some inspiring images that helped get the project started:

DIY Medallion
This morning's DIY was a ceiling medallion for my DIY palm chandelier!
(Abode Love)
(Patricia Gray)
(Habitually Chic)
The ceiling/sheet rock was a little uneven and jagged around the chandelier base where the original ceiling light was installed so it looked unfinished up close.

Soooo... a medallion was the perfect solution. I think they are really fun and add a little finishing touch to a room.

DIY Stockings
Every year I say I'm going to try to make my own Christmas stockings, but this year I actually did it.
I think white stockings are perfection so I decided to go for it!
(Coastal Living)
(my makeshift sewing "room")
(printed pattern from the web)
(silver white and gold embellishments)
Ta Da!
I'm super happy with the results!

Table Top Steal
Michael's had brushed gold chargers on sale this weekend for $1.99 each. I thought it was an awesome find so I grabbed as many as I could for my holiday tabletop.
I ended up with 16 for $32...

not too bad compared with some other stores' prices:
Pottery Barn Silver Charger $32 for 1
Pottery Barn Studio Charger $16 for 1

Bedroom Makeover
This project has been about 6 weeks in the making, primarily because I've been working during the day, I had to wait for a day off to paint, and I had to borrow a truck to pick up the new bed. I went all out though... it was time for a change. I re-painted, hung curtains, painted the fan, changed wall decor, painted end tables, got a new bed & lamps, and cruised etsy for some unique accents. My hope was to keep a Mediterranean-beachy feel but update the room to make it brighter, lighter, more modern, and more sophisticated.
Hope you enjoy the end result!

(Check out the "before pics" at the bottom of the post)
Here are some of the rooms that inspired the project:

(Rachel Zoe's Missoni-esqu room inspired the pillow choices.)

Some yucky before pics...
(The end tables before I painted them- doesn't look right with that new beautiful lucite lamp!)

I stuck to a budget of $300 by repurposing what I already had and taking advantage of Ikea and Marshall's prices. I think I'll put the drill gun away for awhile :)
